Geoffrey Barnes, Director of Finance and ContractsA co-founder of Routes AstroEngineering, Mr. Geoff Barnes specializes in project management for both aerospace and civil construction. He is well versed in various project phases, including planning, estimating, scheduling, and evaluating and preparing claims. In addition to his duties in financial and contract management, Geoff was the project manager on several key projects at Routes, including the FREJA Ultraviolet Imager, launched on a Swedish satellite in 1992 and OEDIPUS-C, a plasma-measuring instrument that was flown on a rocket launched from Alaska. Geoff provided structural and engineering consulting services to the Canadian Space Agency's Astronaut Program Office from 1988 –1993. He is currently leading the program to establish a solar panel manufacturing capability at Routes. Prior to founding Routes in 1988, Geoff held management and engineering positions in the civil construction industry, working on hydroelectric developments, to the building of roads, bridges, and commercial buildings. Geoff holds a B.Sc, (Civil Engineering) from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. |
