Data Storage Unit (DSU)

Routes is designing the DSU that is to be installed on the CASSIOPE-ePOP satellite, as well on future Cascade missions for MDA. The DSU is a high bandwidth, high reliability data storage unit capable of holding up to 20 Tb of data. The DSU contains several leading edge technologies that are only just becoming accepted in space missions, including solid state memory and large Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) in a Ball Grid Array (BGA) package. The DSU on the CASSIOPE-ePOP satellite will be a technology demonstration for future Cascade missions.  More details...
