Power Subsystems

SciSatROUTES ASTROEngineering possesses expertise in microsatellite power subsystems.  Routes was responsible for the development of the power supply subsystem for Canada’s SciSat-1 small satellite.  Routes developed the overall power subsystem architecture, and designed & manufactured the Power Control Unit which provides power bus regulation, battery charging, and on-board power distribution functions.  Routes AstroEngineering was also responsible for the specification and subsequent procurement of the satellite battery and solar panel components.

Space-grade Solar Panels

SciSat Solar Panel on JigRoutes has the capability the design, fabricate, and test space qualified solar panels using state of the art triple junction GaAs solar cells. Our detailed power calculations will predict panel performance at end of life, taking into account degradation from temperature, radiation, micro-meteoroids, and cycling fatigue.   More details...

Low Noise Power Supplies

ROUTES ASTROEngineering has extensive experience developing low noise power supplies as part of our development of complex scientific instruments.  Without exception, the requirements of the science instruments pushed the envelope for the design of high efficiency, low noise power supplies.  Routes AstroEngineering has designed power supplies for scientific instruments flying aboard sounding rockets, small satellites, and International Space Station.
